Aggression in mice associated with changes in the monoamine-metabolism of the brain

Zusammenfassung MitHerpes simplex Virus i.c. beimpfte Mäuse entwickelten nach vorausgegangener Behandlung mitp-Chlorphenylalanin ein ausgesprochen aggressives Verhalten. Bei Mäusen, deren Serotoninsynthese durch Behandlung mitp-Chlorphenylalanin oder-Propylacetamid ausser Funktion gesetzt war, konnte ausgeprägtes Aggressionsverhalten durch i.p. Injektion vonl-DOPA induziert werden.     

A method for quantitative assessment of experimentally produced ulcers in the stomach of albino rats

Résumé Pour évaluer quantitativement les ulcères provoqués expérimentalement dans l'estomac des souris blanches, on dresse le tableau exprimant le rapport entre la muqueuse gastrique et la surface totale d'ulcération indice de l'ulcère. Il semble que la méthode décrite donne des résultats plus exacts car elle tient compte de l'étendue totale d'ulcération en fonction de la surface totale de l'estomac.     

Analytisch-chemische Bestimmung nichtradioaktiver Stoffe mit einem Flüssig-Szintillationsspektrometer durch Radiolumineszenz und Absorptionsphotometrie im Čerenkov-Licht

Summary Three techniques are described which allow a quantitative chemical determination of non-radioactive substances by the means of a liquid scintillation counter. The first method is based on the chemical quenching of a radioluminescent solution through the substance that is to be determined. The second method may be described as absorption photometry in erenkov-light and the third one as absorption photometry in radiofluorescence light.     

Dauerüberwachung der fetalen Herzaktionen unter der Geburt mittels Ultraschall

Summary The report concerns a new method for continuous observation of foetal heart frequency during delivery. The apparatus uses ultrasonic energy according to the Doppler-effect. The equipment is compact, reliable and relatively inexpensive. The ultrasonic energy used, is far below the intensities required to produce harmful effects in biological structures.

Cytochemischer Nachweis phasen- und regionsspezifischer Veränderungen des DNS-Gehaltes während der Embryogenese vonTriturus vulgaris

Summary The DNA content of isolated cells ofTriturus vulgaris embryos (morula through early tail-bud) was measured cytophotometrically. In various regions (entoderm, chordamesoderm, neuroectoderm, presumptive epidermis) considerable differences occur. In particular, some phase-specific DNA increases (approximately 11%) of short duration were detected, which are correlated with the onset of cyto- and organodifferentiation, respectively, and which are caused independent of the interphase DNA reduplication.
